We are a small group of regular and occasional contributors who write limericks for fun and amusement.  Each week a first line is suggested to “kick-start” a limerick - but it’s just a suggestion and writers can adapt the line or think of their own - and then take the limerick in any direction they choose.  Local and topical references are welcomed. Some members write a limerick using the suggested first line and then another with their own first line.  Every Saturday the previous week’s contributions are posted on the “ Limerick Club” webpage (with authorship protected and identified by the writers’ initials only) and a new first line for the following week is suggested.  There is no pressure to submit a verse(s) every week and the contributions are not publicly assessed, criticised or ranked in any way.
